Ambassadors of several South-East Asian countries have attended the Manipur Sangai Festival 2019 which was inaugurated at Imphal on Sunday.
The Ambassadors attending the festival along with their families are from South-East Asian countries like Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Laos.

The festival has been attended by hundreds of foreign tourists.
Informing about the Ambassadors’ presence in the festival, Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh on Sunday tweeted: “Ambassador of many South-East Asian countries, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Laos etc. are attending the #ManipurSangaiFestival2019 as Guests of Honour, and their families and hundreds of foreign tourists are enjoying the Festival and the hospitality of our people.”

Earlier, the Manipur chief minister declared the Sangai Festival opened by lighting the traditional ‘Mera Thaomei’
Sharing a video of hoisting a flag, N Biren tweeted: “Manipur Sangai Festival2019 opened today in Imphal with the lighting of the traditional ‘Mera Thaomei’.”

Urging the people to participate in the festival of Manipur, which will continue till November 30, the Manipur CM said, “Come and enjoy the biggest tourism festival of Manipur, explore the mysteries of the Land Of Jewel.”
Manipur Sangai Run was flagged off as a part of the Manipur Sangai Festival 2019 at Khuman Lampak, Imphal.
Stating that “hundreds of athletes took part in the run”, the Manipur CM thanked, the participants.

Earlier, the chief minister invited all to join the biggest tourism festival of Manipur.
“Inviting all at the Manipur Sangai Festiva 2019, the biggest tourism festival of Manipur, organised by Manipur Tourism from today till 30th November,” he tweeted.
“Don’t miss the opportunity to explore the wonders of the Land of Jewel,” N Biren said.
