โ€œWe will not rest until CAA is withdrawn,โ€ he added.

โ€œPrime Minister Narendra Modi said he respects the democratic movement. Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal stated he has respect for the democratic protest,โ€ Bhattacharya said.

โ€œIf so, then they should withdraw CAA respecting the relentless democratic protests of the people of Assam,โ€ he asserted.

Lashing out at the BJP government further he said, โ€œThe BJP government has miserably failed to convince the people of Assam regarding CAA and so it is organising peace rallies and misguiding the people.โ€

AJYCP GS Palash Changmai too strongly criticized the BJP government for its anti-Assam, anti-Northeast policies and dividing people in the name of religion.

The protesters displayed anti-CAA placards and raised slogans as well.

The protesters also played the โ€˜Dobaโ€™- a traditional Assamese drum- to vent out their angst against the government and CAA.
