Union sports minister Kiren Rijiju on Friday said the essence of culture and festival of Arunachal Pradesh should be preserved.
He was speaking at the Tamla-Du festival at Tezu in Arunachal Pradesh.

โWe should not forget our culture, language and civilization. We are here because of our age-old culture and tradition,โ Rijiju reiterated.
Today we are celebrating the golden jubilee Tamla-Du festival at Tezu. Itโs a historic moment for us. Itโs a primitive festival of Mishmiโs,โ he added.
Tamla-Du is predominantly agriculture and environment-friendly festival,โ Rijiju further said.

He further informed that the has taken lots of steps to preserve the rich cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh.
โTamla-Du festival is an integral and cultural life of Kman and Tawra Mishmis of Lohit and Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh,โ he further said.
โArunachal has a rich cultural and through these festivals, we are showcasing it to the world,โ he added.
Earlier people didnโt know about such festivals but now they are knowing about it gradually,โ he reiterated.
โMishmi attire and jackets are one of the most colourful attires of Arunachal Pradesh. We should preserve these traditional attires,โ Rijiju added.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Pema Khandu said, โItโs a historic moment for us because today we are celebrating 50th Tamla-Du festival.โ
โOur government is committed to working for the development and rich culture of Arunachal Pradesh,โ he added.
โI am very much happy to see the people wanting to wear traditional Mishmi attire,โ he further said.
