The Meghalaya government has asked all landlords and employers to be generous and extend a helping hand to tenants and those working for/with them.

The government has urged the landlords not to force the tenants to pay house rent during this crisis situation.

โ€œThere many daily wagers and students who are staying as tenants across the state,โ€ said deputy CM Prestone Tynsong.

โ€œI request all employers and landlords to kindly help those who work with them or are living as tenants in their houses,โ€ Tynsong said.

The 21-day national lockdown was called by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
