Meghalaya government has asked its citizens who visited Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute (BBCI) to call 108 immediately.

Deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong told reporters that this is required because on Thursday, one doctor of GMCH tested positive for COVID-19.

โ€œAnother COVID-19 positive patient of Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute in Guwahati passed away on Wednesday night,โ€ Tynsong added.

Tynsong said that those who visited these two hospitals after April 23, should call 108 immediately.

โ€œWe request that only patients and persons who visited these two institutes should call 108, and from the government, we will follow up once they registered themselves,โ€ Tynsong said while urging the people of the state not to be panic.
