US President Donald Trump on Saturday said he wanted India to join the Group of Seven (G7) countries which comprises of some of the worldโs top economies.
Speaking to reporters on Air Force One during his return to Washington from Cape Canaveral in Florida, Trump said he would postpone the G7 summit he planned to hold next month at the White House till September.

He also said he plans to include Russia, South Korea, Australia in the G7 summit also as the current members of the G7 comprises a โvery outdated group of countriesโ.
โIโm postponing it because I donโt feel that as a G7 it properly represents whatโs going on in the world,โ Trump said.
White House spokeswoman Alyssa Farah said Trump wants the countries to discuss China at the summit.

German Chancellor Angela Merkelโs office had said on Saturday that she would not attend the summit unless the course of the coronavirus spread had changed by then.
The G7 is an international inter-governmental economic organization which comprises worldโs largest and most advanced economies- Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, United Kingdom and United States.
The G7 group meets annually to discuss economic policies.
