Ashok said that the authorities of the medical college did not inform the police of his sonโ€™s death.

โ€œIf my son had committed suicide by hanging, why was his body taken to the hospital? Why didnโ€™t the medical college authorities inform the police?โ€ said the father.

โ€œEven after two days of the incident, no police has come to meet me.  Moreover, the right hand of my son was stiff, as if it had been broken,โ€ he said.

The father had reportedly received a phone call on December 28 from a relative that his son had met with a severe accident.

He along with his wife rushed to Agartala from Belonia and reached the casualty ward of the trauma centre in AGMC at 10:30 pm on December 28.

There he found his younger brother Chandra Sekhar Dey waiting for them.

โ€œTo my shock, I found my son lying dead in the casualty ward. This is a murder and not suicide,โ€ said Ashok.

Senior CPIM leader and leader of the opposition in Tripura, Badal Choudhury demanded a high-level investigation to ascertain the cause behind the tragic death of the medical student.

โ€œConsidering the gravity of the situation, a high-level probe must be conducted,โ€ Choudhury said.
