Anirban B Gohain

Assamโ€™s senior journalist Anirban B. Gohain passed away on Monday at his residence at Gogamukh after a brief illness. He was 42.

Gohain worked with Assamese daily Asomiya Pratidin as a correspondent from Gogamukh.

Educated in Gogamukh HS School and North Lakhimpur Collge, Gohain was an active armature theatre activist and a well-known artist.

He was also the advisor of the KMSS-Dhemaji district committee and convener of Raijor Dal in Gogamukh.

He leaves behind his parents and wife Gayatri Doley, a writer.

Gohain was the president of Gogamukh Press Club.

A popular figure of the area and an ethnic hospitality entrepreneur Gohainโ€™s death has been widely mourned in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji and across the state.

The North Lakhimpur Press Club mourned the death of the scribe and sent a condolence message to the bereaved family.
