The Greenfield airport at Hollongi near Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh is expected to get ready before November 2022.
This was stated by Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Pema Khandu on Tuesday.

Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, on Tuesday, visited the site of Greenfield airport at Hollongi.
Khandu took stock of the progress of the construction work of the airport that is underway.
The Centre and the Arunachal Pradesh government are trying to ensure that the airport becomes functional by August 2022.

Briefing the media after inspecting the construction work of the Hollongi airport, the Arunachal CM said that he is satisfied with the progress of work.
CM Khandu added that out of the total 2300 metres length of the runway, construction of 1500 metres has been completed.
“This is a dream project of the people of Arunachal Pradesh,” Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu said.
He added: “Met the officials from the construction agencies and took update of the work. Happy that the work is going on full swing. Itanagar will soon be in the country’s aviation map.”

BJP Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao also accompanied CM Khandu to the airport construction site.
Spread over an area of 320 hectares, the Greenfield Airport once completed, would be able to accommodate narrow-body jets like the Airbus A321 in the first phase.
