Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu, on Tuesday, visited theย site ofย Greenfield airport atย Hollongi.ย
Khandu took stock of the progress of the construction work of the airport that is underway.ย
The Centre and the Arunachal Pradesh government are trying to ensure that the airport becomes functional by August 2022.ย

Briefing the media after inspecting the construction work of theย Hollongiย airport, the Arunachal CM said that he is satisfied with the progress of work.ย
CM Khandu added that out of the total 2300 metres length of the runway, construction of 1500 metres has been completed.ย
โThis is a dream project of the people of Arunachal Pradesh,โย Arunachal Pradesh CM Pema Khandu said.ย
He added: โMet the officials from the construction agencies and took update of the work. Happy that the work is going on full swing. Itanagar will soon be in the countryโs aviation map.โย

BJP Lok Sabha MP Tapir Gao also accompanied CM Khandu to the airport construction site.
Spread over an area of 320 hectares, the Greenfield Airport once completed, would be able to accommodate narrow-body jets like the Airbus A321 in the first phase.
