Manipur is witnessing a sharp rise in daily COVID numbers ahead of the Assembly elections in the state. 

On Wednesday, the election-bound state of Manipur recorded a total of 358 new COVID-19 cases.ย 

The cases detected in the state is only 24 less than what was logged on Tuesday.ย 

The new 358 cases in Manipur were detected at a staggering 14.7% positivity rate, a 0.7 percent jump.ย 

Fortunately, no COVID fatality has been reported from the state in the last 24 hours.

The COVID-19 death toll in Manipur currently stands at 2015. 

Imphal West registered the highest number of cases with 156, followed by Imphal East โ€“ 72, Thoubal 15, Bishnupur โ€“ 16, Kakching โ€“ 6, Kamjong โ€“ 3, Kangpokpi โ€“ 1, Noney โ€“ 1, Pherzawl โ€“ 1, Ukhrul โ€“ 1, Tamenglong – 8, Tengnoupal โ€“ 3, Senapati -2, Chandel โ€“ 10 and Churachandpur 40.
