Perpetrators lobbed two bombs at the main gate of the residential complex of N Samarjit.

Imphal: Unknown miscreants came in a car and threw bombs at the residential gate of a Managing Director of a private firm located at Tera Loukrakpam Leikai under the Lamphel police station in Imphal West district on Sunday late night.

The perpetrators who came in a white colour car lobbed two bombs at the main gate of the residential complex of N Samarjit, the Managing Director of Salai Holdings Private Limited, a non-government company.

One bomb exploded causing damage to the residential gate while another remained unexploded.

There was no casualty in the blast being the late night.

Teams of Manipur Policeโ€™s Bomb Detective and Disposal Squad (MPBDS) were called in immediately.

The MPBDS collected the explosive material, cordoned it off, and defused it at a dumping site in the Imphal West district at around 2 am on Monday, the police said.

The police registered a case in this regard and the motive behind the incident is suspected to be a monetary matter.

Official reports stated that the company could not pay back the investorsโ€™ money as it could not function properly because its bank accounts and their assets being frozen by the State Government.

Incorporated on 15 Oct 2014 and classified as a โ€˜company limited by sharesโ€™ the firmโ€™s authorized capital stands at Rs 200.0 lakh and has five per cent paid-up capital of Rs 10.0 lakhs. 

Salai Holdings Private Limitedโ€™s last annual general meeting (AGM) happened on 30 Sept 2017.

The company last updated its financials on 31 March 2017 as per the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA).
