Guwahati: Assam is preparing to honour its legendary singer, Zubeen Garg, with a grand tribute and justice rally in Guwahati on Sunday, marking one month since his passing.

The event will commence at 10 AM at Lakhidhar Bora Field, Dighalipukhuri, and is expected to draw a large gathering of political leaders, social organizations, cultural associations, students, teachers, and fans, all coming together to celebrate the life, legacy, and musical contributions of the late artist.

The rally is being jointly organized by several political and social groups, including the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, CPI (M), CPI, CPI (ML), All India Forward Bloc (Assam Unit), Assam Jatiya Parishad (AJP), Raijor Dal, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and Trinamool Congress (Assam Unit).

Prominent figures expected to lead the tribute include Gaurav Gogoi, Suprakash Talukdar, Kanak Gogoi, Vivek Das, Mihir Nandi, Akhil Gogoi, Bharen Choudhury, Lubinjyoti Gogoi, Dulu Ahmed, and Ajit Kumar Bhuyan. Organizers have urged attendees to participate in a peaceful and dignified manner.

Zubeen Garg, widely regarded as one of Assamโ€™s most versatile and beloved artists, left a lasting impact on Assamโ€™s music and culture.

The rally aims to commemorate his life and address the demand for justice following his death.
