Guwahati: The Arunachal Pradesh government has directed a fresh physical verification of land and compensation related to the Lada–Sarli Frontier Highway project in East Kameng district, covering Packages I to V.

The decision follows the submission of a report by a fact-finding committee, after which the Department of Land Management formed special re-verification committees.

The process will be conducted under the supervision of the East Kameng deputy commissioner.

As per the official order, all land falling within the approved Right of Way will be verified on the ground in line with the sanctioned strip plan.

The findings will be matched with compensation records prepared earlier by a committee constituted in January 2025.

The teams have been instructed to prepare detailed comparison reports showing chainage, beneficiary names, land area, existing assets, and compensation amounts as per the 2022 Manual. Any differences from previous assessments must be clearly noted.

The verification process will be fully documented and videographed according to guidelines.

Separate committees have been set up for Packages I and II, Packages III and IV, and Package V. These committees include officials from land management, public works, horticulture, fisheries, agriculture, and forest departments to ensure a comprehensive assessment.

The Public Works Department (Highways) will handle ground demarcation of the Right of Way with assistance from project consultants and engineers, while the district administration will provide logistical support.

The committees have been asked to submit their reports within 45 days of the order. For transparency and security, three CRPF platoons will support the exercise, and the Anti-Corruption Bureau will oversee the process.

The government has approved Rs 60 lakh to meet the re-verification costs.

The Arunachal Pradesh government issued the order on December 23, 2025, after receiving approval from the chief secretary.
