Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, and United Naga Council (UNC) President Ng. Lorho held a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat on Saturday night to discuss restoring peace, stability, and normalcy in the state.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister assured that his government will continue to work with determination and collective resolve to advance the agenda of inclusive development and lasting peace in Manipur.
He also reaffirmed that the State Government remains firmly committed to strengthening peace and fostering an environment of mutual trust, dialogue, and cooperation among all communities.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Chief Minister wrote, “Received a delegation of the United Naga Council, led by its President Shri Ng. Lorho, along with members of the executive body, who called on me at the Secretariat today. Honโble Deputy Chief Minister Shri Losii Dikho and other Honโble MLAs were also present during the meeting.”
Further, the CM wrote, “Guided by the visionary leadership of Honโble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and the spirit of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, we remain committed to building a united, stable, and prosperous Manipur for all.”
Notably, the UNC has collaborated with other organisations, such as the Kuki Inpi Manipur, to call for peace and condemn acts of violence, including recent arson in Ukhrul and Kangpokpi districts.
The council reiterated that there will be no compromise regarding Naga ancestral land, political rights, and identity.
Furthermore, the UNC strongly opposed the proposed international border fencing along the Indo-Myanmar border, terming it an attempt to divide ancestral lands.
