Guwahati: Senior leaders of the Indian National Congress and its alliance partners will file nominations across multiple constituencies in Assam on Monday, with Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Gaurav Gogoi set to lead a procession in Jorhat.

Gogoi, the Congress candidate for the Jorhat Assembly constituency, will file his nomination at 11 a.m. after taking out a procession from Jorhat Stadium to the office of the District Commissioner.

In Guwahati, Congress candidate for the Dispur constituency, Mira Borthakur Goswami, will begin her day at 9 a.m. from her residence and offer prayers at Ganesh Mandir before proceeding via the Manabendra Sarma Complex to file her nomination.

The partyโ€™s nominee for the New Guwahati constituency, Shantanu Bora, will assemble at Rajiv Bhawan at 10 a.m. before heading to the District Commissionerโ€™s office.

Similarly, Bidisha Neog, the Congress candidate from Jalukbari, will take out a procession from her residence in Garchuk en route to the District Commissionerโ€™s office to submit her nomination papers.

In Sonitpur district, Congress candidates Kartik Kurmi from Rangapara, Batas Orang from Dhekiajuli and Sunil Chettri from Naduar are scheduled to file their nominations at 11 a.m. at the district commissionerโ€™s office.

Party sources said all candidates of the Congress and its alliance partners have completed preparations and are expected to file their nomination papers at their respective district commissionerโ€™s offices before noon.
