Imphal: The three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir (Public Welfare Camp) in Manipurโ€™s Senapati district concluded on Saturday with a strong public response, recording the participation of 2,644 people. During the campaign, a total of 1,870 applications were received, of which 1,696 were disposed of on the spot.

The district-wide outreach initiative was conducted across all subdivisions with the objective of ensuring last-mile delivery of public services and improving access to beneficiary-oriented government schemes. It aimed to strengthen the saturation of key Central and State welfare programmes by bringing services closer to rural and remote communities.

At the concluding event held in Purul, various government departments extended a range of services and benefits to eligible beneficiaries. These included the issuance of land ownership certificates, renewal of PM-KISAN registrations, distribution of saplings, and facilitation of banking-related schemes. Dedicated service counters also provided guidance on flagship government programmes, processed enrolments, and addressed public grievances on the spot.

The campaign was led by Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S, IAS, and closely monitored by Sub-Divisional Officers across Senapati, Lairouching, Willong, Tadubi, Song Song, Paomata, Phaibung-Chilivai, and Purul subdivisions. Camps were organised at several venues, including the Multi-Purpose Hall in Senapati, DRDA Hall in Paomata Centre, community halls in Sangkhumai, Ngari Khullen, Maram Centre, Kalinamai, and the SDO Office Hall in Tadubi.

Officials said the successful completion of the initiative marks a significant step toward strengthening citizen-centric governance and ensuring efficient delivery of government services at the grassroots level across the district.
