Dibrugarh: A Jan Kalyan Shivir was organised on Friday at Unying-Aran Hall, Boleng, under the District Administration of Arunachal Pradesh’s Siang district, as part of the nationwide celebration marking 12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare.

The programme saw participation from government departments, PRI members, community leaders and beneficiaries from across the district.

Arunachal Pradesh Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Transport and Cooperation Minister Ojing Tasing attended the event.

The objective of the Shivir was to deliver government services directly to citizens and create awareness about Central and State welfare schemes.

Sixteen departments and agencies participated in the programme and provided on-the-spot services, registrations and awareness activities.

The Health Department conducted screening services, including tests for hypertension, diabetes, oral and breast cancer, along with PMJAY and ABHA registrations and blood investigations.

A free eye check-up camp was also organised, which benefited a large number of residents.

The Agriculture and Horticulture Departments provided information on schemes such as PM Kisan, SMAM, PMKSY, MIDH and RKVY and promoted natural farming practices.

The Rural Development Department raised awareness about PMAY-G and other rural welfare schemes.

The Arunachal State Rural Livelihoods Mission (ArSRLM) facilitated CMAAY registration, showcased SHG products, supported vermicompost sales and registered potential Lakhpati Didis. It also distributed books of accounts to Self-Help Groups.

The Women and Child Development Department provided information on PM Matru Vandana Yojana and CM Social Security Schemes.

Banks assisted citizens with account opening, KYC updates and awareness of PMJDY, PMJJBY and PMSBY schemes.

The Food and Civil Supplies Department carried out e-KYC, Aadhaar seeding and awareness on ration card and LPG services.

The Urban Development and Housing Department promoted PM SVANidhi and awareness on solid waste management rules.

The Jan Suvidha Kendra issued forms for STC, PRC and ILP, while the Economics and Statistics Department facilitated certificates related to birth, death and marriage.

The Transport Department provided information on driving licences, vehicle registration and traffic rules.

The Election Department conducted awareness on Special Intensive Revision (SIR), ECI Net App and electoral processes.

The Police Department held awareness programmes on drug abuse prevention.

The ITI Department informed citizens about vocational training opportunities, while the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Department provided animal health services and distributed medicines.

A large number of beneficiaries attended the programme and availed services.

The District Administration thanked all participating departments, PRI members and the public for the successful conduct of the event.

Officials said the programme reflected efforts to improve last-mile delivery of government services and strengthen citizen outreach.
