Guwahati: A Fast Track Court on Monday received computers and other digital devices as evidence in the ongoing case related to the death of Assamese singer Zubeen Garg.

Officials connected to the probe said the electronic devices contain key records cited by the SIT in its chargesheet, including photographs, video material and other data collected during the investigation.

The probe has also reportedly uncovered several videos and images connected to incidents in Singapore.

Investigators said some of these materials had not been publicly available before the investigation.

Officials said the data stored in the devices supports the visual evidence attached to the chargesheet.

Examination of the digital records is also believed to have helped investigators piece together important details relating to the final stage of the events under scrutiny.

The devices were submitted before the court as part of the formal process of placing documentary and electronic evidence on record. The proceedings are continuing.

Following the rejection of his bail application by the Gauhati High Court, Shyamkanu Mahanta has moved the Supreme Court for relief.

The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the bail plea on Tuesday.
