Dimapur: Election Commission of India Secretary Binod Kumar on Thursday reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in Nagaland’s Kohima district.

Addressing a review meeting at the Kohima DCโ€™s office, Kumar urged officials to give their best and take the exercise seriously, stating that the SIR would have a generational impact on the state and the country.

He discussed the challenges faced by officials at polling stations where mapping remains low.

Kumar directed officials to ensure that the distribution and collection of enumeration forms are completed well in advance so that the exercise can be completed within the stipulated timeframe.

He advised the District Election Officer (DEO), Electoral Registration Officers (EROs) and Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) to visit the field and discuss the issues with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in areas where SIR figures are low.

Additional Chief Electoral Officer Awa Lorin, Kohima DC and DEO B Henok Buchem, and BLOs of the concerned polling stations were present at the meeting.
