Applications are invited for recruitment of various administrative positions or career in IIT Guwahati Assam in 2026.

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati Assam is inviting applications from eligible candidates for recruitment to the posts or career of Career Development Officer (CDO) and Training and Placement Officer (TPO) at the Centre for Career Development (CCD) in 2026.

Name of post : Career Development Officer (CDO)

No. of posts : 1

Monthly Salary: Rs. 65,000/- (consolidated). Performance Bonus up to Rs. 1,00,000/- per year (will be paid in two installments), subject to satisfactory performance and periodic performance review

Age Limit: Applicants should be preferably below 50 years as on the last date of application

Essential Qualification:

Post-Graduation from a recognized university/institution with at least 60% marks.

Minimum 2 years of experience in conducting training programs/ interview preparation activities/ recruitment coaching initiatives.

The following are the desirable skills and competencies the candidate must possess:

  1. Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills in English.
  2. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and engage students.
  3. Experience in designing, customizing, and delivering interactive training and interview coaching modules.
  4. In-depth knowledge of corporate etiquette, grooming, and professional presentation skills.
  5. Ability to provide constructive feedback and coach individuals for personal improvement.
  6. Experience in tracking progress and preparing reports on student’s skill development.

Name of post : Training and Placement Officer (TPO)

No. of posts : 1

Monthly Salary: Rs. 1,10,000/- (consolidated). Performance Bonus up to Rs. 1,50,000/- per year (will be paid in two installments), subject to satisfactory performance and periodic performance review.

Age Limit: Applicants should be preferably below 50 years as on the last date of application.

Essential Qualification:

Two-year PG degree/diploma in Human Resources or related disciplines after a UG degree with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university/institution with at least five years of working experience in a reputed academic institution as a TPO or equivalent.

The candidate should possess the following skills.

  1. Excellent communication skills, inter-personal skills to represent organization interest with business and human resource leadership of national and multinational companies in India and abroad.
  2. Comprehensive understanding of industry practices and corporate relations and relevant experience in an educational institute catering to industry-academic interface.
  3. Experience in coordinating recruitment drives for placements, internships and facilitating necessary training and skilling programs for students.
  4. Experience in working with ERP portals or similar students’ data management tools that handle campus placements.
