Qualifications :
10+2 (Science preferred) with Diploma in Endoscopy Technology / Operation Theatre Technology (BAOTT/ MAOTT) / Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT), OR an equivalent allied-health qualification from a recognized institution
Desirable :
SGEI-WEO Certified GI Technician qualification or equivalent society-recognized endoscopy certification & Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
Experience :
Minimum 1 year Experience in a Gl endoscopy unit, including ERCP / EUS support and endoscope reprocessing (manual and AER), accessory handling (sphincterotomes, guidewires, stents), and procedure-room assistance.
Key Responsibilities :
1. Assisting gastroenterologists during diagnostic and therapeutic Gl endoscopic procedures, including Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, ERCP, and EUS.
2. Preparing patients, procedure rooms, equipment, and accessories for endoscopic procedures.
3. Performing cleaning, high-level disinfection, storage, and routine maintenance of endoscopes and accessories.
4. Maintaining inventory, procedure records, equipment logs, and reprocessing documentation.
5. Ensuring compliance with infection control, biomedical waste management, patient safety, and hospital protocols.
6. Assisting in emergency endoscopic procedures and supporting departmental quality improvement initiatives.
