Imphal: The award for Best Feature Film at the 3rd North East India Film Festival (NEIFF) 2026, held in Manipur, was presented to Collage, produced by Sumitra Hazarika and directed by Amar Deep Gogoi (Assam).
The Best Non-Feature Film award went to Toy Gun, produced by Khumanllambam Omeshwori and directed by Thingnam Parshuram (Manipur).
The Best Director award was conferred upon Monjul Baruah for Romantic Affairs (Assam); Best Cinematographer to Pradip Daimary for Ha Lyngkha Bneng (Meghalaya); Best Editor to Sanjib Gogoi for Noi Kotha (Assam); Best Sound Designer to Debajit Gayan for Kangbo Aloti (Assam); Best Screenwriter to Doren Naorem for The Check Post (Manipur); and the Jury Special Award to Phouoibee, produced by Suraj Khongbantabam and directed by Rakesh Moirangthem (Manipur). Laininghal Naoria Phullo, produced by Sanatombi Heigrujam and directed by Rajen Leishangthem (Manipur), also earned a Special Mention.
A total of nine films from three Northeastern states—Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya—were screened during the festival, which began at TanthaPolis Cinema in Imphal on March 21, 2026, and concluded successfully on Sunday.
The festival showcased both feature and non-feature films, with a lineup including Collage, Kangbo Aloti, Ha Lyngkha Bneng, Noi Kotha, Romantic Affairs, Toy Gun, The Check Post, Phouoibee, and Laininghal Naoria Phullo. Eight awards were presented, each carrying a citation, statuette, and cash prize.
The festival was jointly organized by THOUNA, the Directorate of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), Government of Manipur, and the All Manipur Film Producers Association, under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC).
