Guwahati: A large crowd assembled at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on Saturday as demonstrators intensified their demand for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The protest was spearheaded by Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke, who warned of a nationwide agitation if the minister does not step down by 5 pm.

Addressing supporters, Dipke said the movement would expand beyond the national capital, with demonstrations planned in several cities during the coming days. He also announced that another major rally would be organised at Jantar Mantar next weekend.

Social activist Sonam Wangchuk joined the gathering after reaching the protest venue earlier in the day. Thousands of people participated in the demonstration, which was held with permission granted by Delhi Police.

Dipke had arrived in the capital from the United States via Indira Gandhi International Airport and urged supporters to head directly to the protest site carrying the national flag and books as symbols of their campaign.

Earlier in the day, police detained a group of individuals who attempted to enter the protest area while demanding action against the CJP. The group raised slogans in support of the Delhi Police and voiced strong opposition to the party’s activities.

Meanwhile, security arrangements were tightened across the city, particularly around the residences of several high-profile leaders.

Additional personnel were deployed near the homes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan amid concerns over possible demonstrations targeting senior government figures.
