Guwahati: Arunachal Pradesh has earned national recognition in the field of performing arts as two of its distinguished cultural personalities, Ms. Rumi Taki and Shri Domin Karbak, have been honoured by the Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s apex institution for music, dance and drama.
Ms. Rumi Taki has been conferred the prestigious Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar in recognition of her exceptional contribution to Folk Theatre and Traditional Folk Dance. The award celebrates young artists who have demonstrated remarkable talent and dedication in preserving and promoting India’s rich cultural traditions.
Shri Domin Karbak has been awarded the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for his outstanding efforts in safeguarding, promoting and enriching the indigenous cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh. His work has played a significant role in preserving traditional art forms and strengthening the state’s cultural identity.
