Former Member of Parliament Abdul Khaleque joins APCC Media Department as Advisor following appointment by Gaurav Gogoi.

Guwahati: The Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has named former Member of Parliament Abdul Khaleque as Advisor to its Media Department, assigning him a key role in strengthening the party’s communication strategy in the state.

The appointment was approved by APCC president Gaurav Gogoi and came into effect immediately, according to an office order issued by APCC General Secretary (Organisation) Ramanna Baruah on Satuday.

As Advisor, Khaleque will assist the APCC Media Department in coordination with its chairman. He will function under the direct supervision of the state Congress president.

The order said the appointment forms part of the party’s organisational responsibilities and will take immediate effect.

The notification has been circulated to senior party leaders and office-bearers, including AICC General Secretaries K.C. Venugopal and Jitendra Singh, Members of Parliament, MLAs and other concerned officials.

Khaleque, a senior Congress leader and former Member of Parliament, has held several key positions within the party and is expected to contribute to the APCC’s media outreach and public communication efforts ahead of the upcoming political campaigns.
