Assam has registered 83 more COVID19 positive cases, taking the stateโ€™s overall tally to 2,776.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in a tweet on Monday evening said Nagaon has reported 30 COVID19 cases and 10 cases have been detected in Darrang and 6 cases have been reported from Lakhimpur district.

Cachar district has reported 7 positive cases, Biswanath district has reported 2 cases, 1 case has been detected in Dhemaji district.

The health minister said Kamrup (R) has reported 10 positive cases and 1 case has been reported from Kamrup Metro.

Without mentioning Kamrup (Rural) or Kamrup Metro, the health minister also said 16 other COVID19 positive cases have been detected in Kamrup.

โ€œAlert ~ 83 new #COVID19+ cases reported. 30 Nagaon, 16 Kamrup, 10 Darrang, 10 Kamrup (R), 6 Lakhimpur, 7 Cachar, 2 Biswanath, 1 Kamrup (M), 1 Dhemaji,โ€ health minister Sarma said in the tweet.

With the new cases, the number of COVID19 cases in Assam stands at 2,104.

Earlier, a total of 665 COVID19 patients were discharged from various hospitals across Assam after their recovery.

On Monday, a total of 29 COVID19 patients were discharged from 5 different hospitals in Assam.

Health minister in an earlier tweet informed that 17 patients were discharged from the Kalapahar TB hospital in Guwahati dedicated to COVID19, 4 patients were discharged from Silchar Medical College Hospital (SMCH), 4 patients were discharged from Mahendra Mohan Choudhury Hospital (MMCH) in Guwahati.

While 3 COVID19 patients were discharged from Karimganj district hospital, one patient was discharged from the Dhemaji district hospital.

On Monday, the number of deaths due to COVID19 infection increased to 5 in Assam after a positive patient died in the Karbi Anglong district.

However, health minister Sarma is yet to declare as a COVID19 death.

On Monday, Assam has reported a total of 95 positive cases so far.
