CRPF jawan Amarendra Ray from Assam's Bongaigaon, missing for over a week, was found dead at Rajasthan's Kota Junction.

Guwahati: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan from Assam, who had been missing for more than a week, was found dead at Kota Junction railway station in Rajasthan on July 11, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Amarendra Ray, a native of Manikpur in Assam‘s Bongaigaon district. Authorities confirmed his identity after recovering official identification documents from his belongings.

According to available information, Ray left Bijni in Chirang district on July 2 to continue his journey. On July 3, he reportedly got off at Tundla Junction in Uttar Pradesh and stayed overnight at a hotel near Agra Fort.

The next day, July 4, he boarded a train from Agra Idgah railway station. Soon after, all communication with his family ceased, and his whereabouts remained unknown despite efforts to trace him.

His body was eventually recovered at Kota Junction railway station in Rajasthan.

The circumstances surrounding his death are yet to be established. Police have launched an investigation, and further details are awaited.
