Guwahati: Assam has emerged as the first state in the country to generate a Fund Transfer Order (FTO) under the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G), Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Wednesday.

The Chief Minister shared the achievement on X, stating that Assam had completed every mandatory requirement under the newly introduced scheme, enabling the state to initiate timely wage payments to beneficiaries.

” Pleased to share that Assam has become the first state in India to generate a Fund Transfer Order under VBG-RAM-G. This means we have successfully met all the required benchmarks, ensuring the timely release of wages to every beneficiary,” Sarma posted.

A progress dashboard released by the Chief Minister showed Assam leading all states and Union Territories in implementing the programme. The state has completed key stages, including agency mapping, Drawing and Disbursing Officer (DDO) mapping, sharing of master data with the National Informatics Centre (NIC)-Department of Rural Development (DRD), data integration, and the Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) process.

According to the dashboard, Assam is currently the only state to have generated a wage-related Fund Transfer Order under the VB-G RAM G framework. Although several other states have completed initial implementation steps, none has yet reached the wage payment stage, while many are still completing the required formalities.

The achievement places Assam at the forefront of the national rollout of the digital platform, which has been introduced to improve the delivery of rural employment and livelihood schemes through a streamlined and technology-driven payment system.

The state government said generating the first Fund Transfer Order confirms that all administrative and technical requirements have been fulfilled, ensuring faster, transparent, and seamless transfer of wages to beneficiaries under the programme.
