Guwahati: Assam minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass on February 15 launched a sharp attack on Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi, making controversial remarks during a public event in Pathsala.

Speaking at the inauguration of the newly constructed office building of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department, Bajali Division, Dass said, โ€œGaurav Gogoi can go to Pakistan and have tea worth Rs 150 at an airport.โ€Drawing a contrast, the minister added, โ€œI drink tea at roadside stalls or small local tea shops,โ€ projecting himself as a leader connected to common people.

He further claimed that a vast ideological difference exists between the Congress and the BJP. โ€œThe Congress policy is Rahul first, people second, and the nation third,โ€ he alleged, referring to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

After inaugurating the newly constructed PHE office building, Dass made several political remarks in his address. Local officials, party workers and residents attended the event.
