Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that the state has emerged as one of the top performers in NITI Aayogโ€™s Investment Friendliness Index, reflecting its growing reputation as an attractive destination for investors.

Sarma highlighted that Assamโ€™s progress has been driven by stable policies, improved infrastructure, a supportive business environment and better law and order conditions. He said these factors have helped create a favourable ecosystem for industries and businesses looking to invest in the state.

The Chief Minister also noted that Assam has been ranked as the second-best investment destination among the hilly and Northeastern states. He invited investors to explore opportunities in the state, emphasising Assamโ€™s potential for economic growth and development.

According to Sarma, the governmentโ€™s focus on strengthening connectivity, improving institutional support, reducing business hurdles and investing in education has played a key role in enhancing the stateโ€™s investment appeal.

He added that the Assam government will continue working towards creating a more business-friendly environment and attracting greater domestic and global investments to generate employment and accelerate economic growth.
