Four more positive patients have succumbed to COVID19 infections in Assam on Monday, taking the stateโ€™s death toll to 109.

Sharing the news on his Twitter handle on Monday, Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said: โ€œAlways painful to lose your own.โ€

The victims are from Kamrup Metro, Sivasagar, Tinsukia and Dibrugarh districts, the health minister said.

Health minister Sarma said the COVID19 victims are 45-year-old Subrata Patra from Kamrup Metro district, 65-year-old Haren Mahanta from Sivasagar district, 53-year-old Sukendra Kumar Tanti from Tinsukia and 80-year-old Madan Dutta from Dibrugarh district.

Assam so far has registered a total of 42,904 COVID19 positive cases.

With the death of 4 more positive cases, Assam currently has 10,408 active cases while 3 cases migrated from the state.

A total of 32,384 patients, who were earlier infected by COVID19, have been discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres across Assam after they tested negative for the virus.
