Accused of swindling Rs 158 crore, the six Northeast Frontier Railway officials invested โthe ill-gottenโ money on real estate and prime lands in multiple locations.
The CBI on Thursday raided 14 locations in Guwahati, including the headquarters of Northeast Frontier Railway to seize vital documents connected to the scam.

A suo moto case (06/2019) was registered by the CBI on July 2 for alleged large scale corruptions in issue of advertisements to 12 irrelevant and bogus newspapers of Bihar and four other states.
Six officials of the NF Railway who are the prime accused in the corruption case are:

The CBI registered the case under Sections 120 (B), 409, 420, 467, 468, 471 of the IPC, read with Section 13 (1) (c) & (d) of PC Act, 1988.
In addition to the 14 locations in Guwahati, the CBI sleuths had also raided in one location in New Delhi.
Sources told Northeast Now on Saturday that Dilip Chandra Bora is the prime accused in the graft case, and he is the highest beneficiary of the fraudulence and corrupt practices.
Four raids were conducted on Guwahati and New Delhi to unearth Boraโs direct involvement in the multi-crore scam.
A team of CBI sleuths raided Boraโs Railway Quarter in Maligaon, and reportedly found a lot of documents which proved that he had bought eight plots of land in prime locations.
A second CBI team raided Boraโs DDA MIG Flat in Dwarka in New Delhi, and reportedly found a lot of documents related to his bank accounts and insurance policies.
The third raid was conducted in Boraโs official chamber at NF Railwayโs headquarters in Maligaon. The raid reportedly revealed a lot of information on the railway officialโs immovable properties.
Raid to Boraโs Gotanagar residence revealed information about his immovable properties. He owns a multi-storeyed building in Guwahati, two apartments in New Delhi, and also a flat in Guwahati.
The CBI team reportedly seized documents of several plots of land owned by Bora. He owns a plot of measuring more than 8 bigha in Kamrup (Metro).
Gold ornaments worth almost Rs 10 lakhs was also seized from Boraโs house in Guwahati, the sources said.
