Sprint sensation Hima Das on Thursday evening met Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal at the CM’s office chamber in Dispur.
Chief Minister Sonowal has informed that during the meeting with the ‘golden girl, who is known as ‘Dhing Express’, they discussed over the sprinter’s future plans and prospects.
Hima Das, who brought laurels to Assam and the country by winning three medals, including one gold at the Asian Games held in Jakarta recently, has been conferred Arjuna Award.
The Chief Minister also congratulated Hima Das for being selected for Arjuna Award.
Informing about the meeting, Chief Minister Sonowal on his Twitter handle on Thursday stated:  “Hima Das paid me a visit at my office this evening. We discussed her future plans and prospects. I also offer my heartiest congratulations to her on being selected for the Arjuna Awards.”
The CM on Thursday reportedly worked till 9 pm on Thursday.
Hima Das also thanked Chief Minister Sonowal for his support on her Twitter handle after the meeting.

Hima tweeted: “Thank you Sarbananda Sonowal sir for giving me precious time for a meeting today. Also I would like to thank you for all the motivation and support.”

Sprinter Hima Das will be conferred with the prestigious Arjuna Award for her contributions to sports and bringing laurels for India by President Ram Nath Kovind at a specially organized function at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on September 25.
