Imphal: As part of its preparations for the 2027 Assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Manipur has launched training programs to strengthen its organizational framework and deepen its grassroots connections, aiming to secure an absolute majority in the state assembly.
The Morcha and district-level one-day workshop, held under the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan 2026, was inaugurated at the party’s head office in Imphal on Saturday night.
The program was attended by Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, State President Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi, BJP Manipur in-charge (State Prabhari) Ajeet Gopchade, Minister Govindas Konthoujam, MLAs Th. Biswajit Singh, Karam Shyam, and Dinganglung Gangmei, along with senior party leaders and karyakartas.
The workshop focused on ideological clarity, organizational strengthening, and empowering Morcha and district-level workers with the vision and principles of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The active participation of party members reflected a commitment to building a disciplined, dedicated, and service-oriented organization.
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “Honoured to attend the One Day Workshop of Morcha and district level Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya Prashikshan Mahabhiyan, 2026.” He added, “Fruitful deliberations were held on strengthening our organizational framework and deepening our connection with the people at the grassroots. Reiterated that a strong, disciplined, and people-oriented party structure is essential to transform public aspirations into tangible development and good governance.” He further added, “With unity, dedication, and collective resolve, we will continue working tirelessly for the progress, peace, and prosperity of Manipur.”
BJP Manipur in-charge Ajeet Gopchade told the media that the party aims to secure a two-thirds majority in the upcoming State Assembly elections in 2027, and training is being provided to party workers to reach the booth level.
BJP workers, including women and youth, from Kisan Morcha to OBC Morcha, will visit their respective booths to spread the BJPโs ideology from village to village and house to house, he added.
Currently, in the 60-member Manipur Legislative Assembly, the BJP has 36 MLAs.
