Manipur HSE 2026 exams
Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh urges Class XII students to be “exam warriors” and stay stress-free during HSE 2026.

Imphal: Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on Monday extended his best wishes to students appearing in the Class XII Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2026, conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur (COHSEM), urging them to act as “exam warriors”, treating exams as a stress-free celebration rather than as a “worrier.”

He also urged parents and teachers to avoid putting undue pressure on students. Meanwhile, Tengnoupal District has enforced Section 163 of the BNSS near exam centers to ensure fair and peaceful examinations.

In a message, the Chief Minister stated, “As expressed by the Prime Minister, students should appear for examinations with a happy and stress-free disposition, like an ‘exam warrior’ and not an ‘exam worrier.’ Although these examinations are crucial in shaping one’s career, students should not get stressed but treat exams as a celebration, creating a stress-free environment. While students need to study hard and prepare well to score good marks, it is important to compete only with oneself, not against anyone else.”

The Chief Minister further emphasized that at this critical juncture, parents and teachers must guide and support the students rather than putting undue pressure on them. Students must remain calm and take the examinations with a composed mind.

For the HSSLC (Class 12 – COHSEM), examinations are scheduled from February 17 to March 20, 2026, with practicals running until April 4, 2026.

Ahead of the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) examinations 2026, scheduled from February 17 to April 4, 2026, the Tengnoupal district administration has imposed prohibitory measures to ensure a peaceful and fair atmosphere.

District Magistrate Saurabh Yadav, IAS, issued the order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. The directive aims to curb noise pollution, prevent overcrowding near examination centers, and stop attempts to use unfair means during the examination period.

According to official sources, these restrictions will be enforced around nine examination centers, including Moreh College, Moreh Government Higher Secondary School, and Tengnoupal High School. The orders are effective from 6:00 AM on February 16 until 6:00 PM on April 4, 2026.

The unauthorized assembly of three or more persons within a 100-metre radius of examination centers is strictly prohibited.
