A documentary on the life of the boxing champion Laishram Sarita Devi was listed among the award-winning films at the 13th Manipur State Film Awards (MSFA), 2020.

The MSFA 2020 presented 57 awards altogether, out of which 33 were for feature films, 20 for non-feature films and 3 for best writing on Manipuri Cinema and 1 for Lifetime Achievement Award.

Manipur Art & Culture Minister L Jayantakumar announced the list of awardees during a press meet in Imphal on Wednesday.

The 13th Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred on Ksh Rashi Devi of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai in Manipurโ€™s Imphal West district for her outstanding and continuous contribution to the growth and development of Manipuri Cinema.

The Best Feature Film was awarded to โ€˜Pandam Amadaโ€™, produced by Konsam Saroja and directed by Oinam Gautam.โ€™

The best non-feature film was awarded to โ€˜Highways of Lifeโ€™, directed by Maibam Amarjeet Singh, Films Division, Government of India production.

Best critic award was conferred on Aken Sijagurumayum, Best Child Artist award was given to S Saolin.

Best Actor Male and Female was awarded to Amar Mayanglambam for his role in โ€˜Eechadi Maniniโ€™ and Bala Tensubam for her role in โ€˜Chaphuโ€™, respectively.

Rina Ningthoujam was awarded Special Jury Award for her role in โ€˜Eechadi Maniniโ€™ while Best Cinematography award went to Irom Maipak for the film โ€˜Nongphadok Lakpa Atithiโ€™

Kenedy Khuman got Best Male Playback Singer award for the song โ€˜Nakenthagisu Yeningthaโ€™ in the film โ€˜Pandam Amada and Rosy Heisnam bagged Best Female Playback Singer  for the song โ€˜Nungshikhredaโ€™ in the film โ€˜Bangladeshki Sana Tamphaโ€™

The award-winning documentary film on boxer Sarita called โ€œI Riseโ€ is a 51 minutes film.

โ€œIt took us around five years to shoot the film,โ€ said director Borun Thokchom.
