Dimapur: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio described the signing of the historic memorandum of agreement (MoA) between the Nagaland government, the Government of India, and the Eastern Nagaland Peoplesโ€™ Organisation (ENPO) for the formation of the Frontier Nagaland Territorial Authority (FNTA) as a testament to the state governmentโ€™s commitment to equitable and inclusive development. He said it reflects continued efforts to reach out to all regions of the state.

The MoA was signed in New Delhi on Thursday in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Rio, and key leaders of the ENPO.

Addressing the signing ceremony at the Ministry of Home Affairs, Rio said the pact demonstrates mutual trust among all sections and addresses the aspirations of the people of eastern Nagaland in particular, while ensuring that development reaches every corner of the state.

He congratulated the people of eastern Nagaland on this milestone and commended their efforts in achieving this landmark agreement. โ€œAll the Naga tribes join you in celebration, as this is not just an achievement of the eastern people, but a victory for the entire Naga society,โ€ he said.

Rio assured his fullest cooperation in the collective aspiration for progress and development across all sections of Naga society. He also expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for their statesmanship and support, which were crucial to the signing of the agreement.

He further thanked the Union Home Secretary, state government officials, and the ENPO, led by its president, for their collaboration and efforts in finalizing this important agreement.
