In yet another controversial statement, Tripura chief minister Biplab Kumar Deb has claimed that Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi invented the Covid-19 vaccine.
“PM Narendra Modi has invented vaccine through the local method in India,” Biplab Kumar Deb said while addressing a programme at the Kamini Kumar Singha Memorial School in Agartala on Sunday.
The Tripura Civil Service Officers Association, a common platform of the state’s civil service officers organized the programme.
The chief minister said that the novel coronavirus taught people many important things like maintaining social distancing.

“The Covid-19 pandemic has taught us self-reliance. The Prime Minister has invented the vaccine through the indigenous method, which is why people in India are not afraid of the virus anymore,” Deb said.
“India has provided the Covid-19 vaccine for free in 25 countries. The Modi government has taken all initiative for vaccination in Bangladesh,” he further said.
The chief minister had also made the controversial statement that Amit Shah plans to form governments in Nepal and Sri Lanka.
