Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Monday expressed shock over the death of Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag, who was found hanging in the washroom of his official chamber at the state police headquarters.
In a statement, Saha said he immediately visited the police headquarters along with the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary after receiving information about the incident.
The DGP was shifted to AGMC and GBP Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead after examination, the chief minister said.
“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic demise of Anurag, IPS, Director General of Police, Tripura, who was found hanging in the washroom of his official chamber today,” Saha said.
The chief minister said he, along with the Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary, rushed to the police headquarters soon after being informed about the incident.
He said the officer was immediately shifted to AGMC and GBP Hospital, where the attending doctors declared him brought dead.
Saha conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for strength for them to bear the loss.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved family during this hour of profound grief. May the departed soul rest in peace, and may the family find strength and courage to bear this irreparable loss,” he said.
