Tripura launches 'Yoddha' portal, allowing citizens to submit anonymous complaints while protecting their identities and privacy.

Agartala: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday launched ‘Yoddha’, an online grievance portal in North Tripura district that allows residents to submit complaints anonymously, with the government considering a statewide rollout if the initiative proves effective.

Launching the portal, Saha said it was developed by the North Tripura district administration to strengthen public participation and improve communication between citizens and the government.

The Chief Minister said the platform has been designed to protect the identity of complainants, particularly in cases involving sensitive issues such as child marriage and substance abuse, enabling people to report incidents without fear of disclosure.

“If the portal is successful, we will introduce it in all districts. It will help us understand many issues, and people can lodge complaints without any fear,” Saha said.

He also highlighted the government’s efforts to make grievance redressal more accessible by taking the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme to district headquarters. The initiative allows people to present their grievances directly to the Chief Minister without travelling to the state capital.

Saha said the decision to decentralise the programme was taken after the government noticed that many residents from remote areas were travelling long distances to attend the weekly grievance hearings in Agartala.

He said Mukhyamantri Samipeshu has successfully completed 70 editions, with the district-level version first introduced in Dhalai district before being organised in North Tripura.

According to the Chief Minister, many of the grievances received during these interactions relate to healthcare, while several applicants seeking assistance are persons with disabilities.

Speaking on the state’s healthcare achievements, Saha said Tripura has successfully completed its eighth kidney transplant, adding that government doctors have now acquired the expertise required to carry out the procedure independently.
