Bulbul Can Singโ€“ a Rima Das directorial has won the โ€˜Best Assamese Filmโ€™ award at the 66th National Film Awards.

The list of winners, which was declared on Friday, was delayed this year due to the Lok Sabha polls.

Apart from Rima Das, the other winners from the region are โ€˜Best Garo Filmโ€™ Ma.Ama by Dominic Sangma,โ€™Best Sherdukpen Filmโ€™ Mishing by Bobby Sarma Baruah, and โ€˜Best Pangsenpa Filmโ€™ In The Land Of Poisonous Women by Manju Borah.

Pangsenpa language is spoken by only 5,000 people who live near India-China border, around 100 kilometres from Tawang, in Arunachal Pradesh.

Rima Dasโ€™ Bulbul Can Sing bagged a special award at the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne on Thursday.

Gujarati movie Hellaro was adjudged as the โ€˜Best Feature Filmโ€™ at the 66th National Film Awards.

Ayushman Khurana for Andhadhun and Vicky Kaushal for Uri were declared as โ€˜Best Actorsโ€™ and Tabu for Andhadhun as Best Actress.
