Forest officials spotted three endangered Hog Braders in Tripura for the first time on Saturday
Informing about it to the media on Sunday, forest officials said that the hog braders were spotted and rescued from Salema village in Tripuraโs North district.

โThe animals have been treated and kept in Sipahijala sanctuary, about 20 kilometres from Agartala,โ the officials added.
Sharing about the rare and endangered animals, Chief Wildlife Warden DK Sharma said, โThe animals looked stressedโ
โThey are being treated to overcome any shock,โ he added.

โAfter their full recovery, they might be released in the forest from where they were found,โ he further said.
Sharma further informed that the IUCN has listed the rescued animal as โendangeredโ.
โThis is for the first time that Hog Braders have been spotted in Tripura,โ Sharma said.
โThey were recorded in Assam and a few other states of the northeast along with parts of South-East Asian countries like Thailand and Cambodia,โ Sharma further said.
He further said that the rescued animals were first thought as pigs for their resemblance, but local residents soon called the Forest personnel.
