Assam reported 9 more deaths due to Covid19 infection and a total of 270 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta in a tweet on Friday evening said the new cases were detected out of 55,049 tests.

The state’s overall Covid19 positivity percentage stood at 0.49%.

Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district reported 90 cases.

The state’s recovery rate stood at 98.17% on Friday.

“Summary of 17/9/2021 – Today’s Total 270; Overall Positivity Percentage (270 cases out of 55,049 test done = 0.49%); Kamrup(M) 90;  Death 9; Recovery Rate 98.17%,” health minister Mahanta tweeted.

On Thursday, Assam reported 4 deaths due to Covid19 infection and 468 new positive cases.

The state’s overall positivity percentage stood at 0.79% on Thursday as the cases were detected out of 59,020 tests.

The Kamrup Metro district reported 161 cases on Thursday.

The state’s recovery rate was 98.13% on Thursday.

Meanwhile, 77.24 cr vaccine doses have been administered so far in India under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive.

India has reported a total of 34,403 new cases in the last 24 hours.

India’s active cases account for 1.02% of the total cases.

The country’s active caseload stands at 3,39,056.

India’s recovery rate currently stands at 97.65%.
