Assam reported 24 more Covid19 deaths and 2,493 new positive cases in the last 24 hours.

Confirming the news, Assam health minister Keshab Mahanta in a tweet on Friday evening said the new cases were confirmed out of 1,17,087 tests.

The overall positivity percentage of Assam stood at 2.13% on Friday, according to the data, shared by health minister Mahanta.

Of the new cases, the Kamrup Metro district recorded 247 cases.

Hundreds of people recovered on Friday.

The state’s recovery rate on Friday stood at 94.75%.

“Summary of 09/7/2021 – Today’s Total 2493; Overall Positivity Percentage (2493 cases out of 1,17,087 test done = 2.13%); Kamrup(M) 247; Death 24; Recovery Rate 94.75%,” health minister Mahanta tweeted.

On Thursday, Assam reported a total of 2,644 new Covid19 cases.

Assam reported 21 Covid29 deaths on Thursday.

The positive cases were confirmed out of 1,06,760 tests.

Assam’s overall positivity percentage was 2.48% on Friday.

Kamrup Metro reported 168 cases on Friday while the state’s recovery rate stood at 94.72%.

India reported a total of 43,393 new Covid19 cases in the last 24 hours.

India’s active caseload currently stands at 4,58,727.

The country’s active cases constitute 1.49% of the total cases.

The country recorded a total of 2,98,88,284 recoveries across the country so far

A total of 44,459 patients recovered during the last 24 hours.

The country’s recovery rate increased to 97.19% on Friday, the Union health ministry said.
