Doomdooma: A 10-year-old girl and a 28-year-old woman died in separate incidents of snakebite and electrocution at Samdung Tea Estate in Tinsukia district of Upper Assam on Monday.
The 10-year-old girl, a resident of Samdung Tea Estate, reportedly died after being bitten by a snake.
In a separate incident, Baijyanti Kanda (28), a resident of Itta Bhatta Line of Samdung Tea Estate, allegedly died after suffering an electric shock.
The circumstances leading to the two incidents are yet to be fully established.
Both victims were brought to Doomdooma Referral Hospital (FRU), where doctors examined them and declared them brought dead.
Following the deaths, the bodies were sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the standard procedure to ascertain the exact causes of death.
Meanwhile, Doomdooma Police have launched investigations into both incidents.
Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths and are expected to determine the precise causes after completing the investigations and receiving the post-mortem reports.
The two deaths have cast a pall of gloom over Samdung Tea Estate, with the incidents occurring separately on Monday.
