Guwahati: Vice President C P Radhakrishnan is scheduled to arrive in the state on September 6 for a two-day visit, during which he will attend several official and public events.
Radhakrishnan is expected to reach Guwahati around 10 am on Sunday. His visit will include the golden jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College, which will be held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra.
He is also scheduled to attend the convocation ceremony of Srimanta Sankardeva University of Health Sciences at Jyoti-Bishnu Antorjalik Kala Mandir.
On Monday morning, the Vice President will visit the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati and offer prayers.
Later in the day, Radhakrishnan will attend a civic reception at the Gauhati University Convention Centre, where he is also expected to lay the foundation stones for several development projects. Officials have not yet provided details of the projects.
Following the Assam visit, Radhakrishnan will travel to Meghalaya on Monday as part of his two-day Northeast tour.
