Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Thursday informed that the condition of a COVID-19 patient from Hailakandi is critical and his oxygen saturation is decreasing.

Sarma further informed the patientโ€™s other parameters are stable and that he is being shifted to ICU of Silchar Medical College and Hospital )SMCH) for better monitoring.

โ€œAlert โ€“ The condition of the 28th case (from Hailakandi) of COVID-19 from Assam is alarming, though his other parameters are stable his oxygen saturation is decreasing. Shifting to ICU of SMCH for better monitoring,โ€ Sarma twitted.

 

So far 28 persons from Assam have tested positive for COVID-19 and this is the first case where the condition of a patient has been stated as critical.

The first COVID-19 patient from Assam was a 52-year-old man from Badarpur in Karimganj district and he had visited Nizamuddin in Delhi.

Reports said that the person is a diabetic and a cancer patient.
