Guwahati: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has announced the schedule for the Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC) Examination 2026-27, with the first examination paper set to be held on December 4.
The examination will begin with English on December 4, followed by Science on December 7. The Indian Languages/Additional English paper is scheduled for December 9.
On December 11, students will appear for Health and Physical Education, Computer Science and vocational subjects. The Social Science examination will be conducted on December 14, while Mathematics/Special Mathematics will be the final paper on December 16.
All regular examinations will be held from 10 am to 1 pm. Students will be allowed to enter the examination halls from 9.30 am. Question papers will be distributed at 9.45 am, followed by answer scripts at 9.50 am, with writing scheduled to begin at 10 am.
Indian language and vocational options
For the Indian Language paper, students can choose from Garo, Khasi, Hindi, Bengali, Assamese, Nepali, Urdu and Mizo.
MBOSE has also listed several vocational subjects, including Beauty and Wellness, Tourism, Health Care, Electronics, Agriculture, ITES, Apparels, Plumbing, Food Processing, Telecom, Banking and Automobile Repair.
These vocational subjects will be offered in place of Computer Science or Health and Physical Education, according to the board.
The theory examination for vocational subjects will have a shorter duration. Students appearing for these papers will write their examinations from 10 am to 11 am.
MBOSE has also stated that the published timetable may be revised in the event of unforeseen circumstances or if important announcements by the state or Central governments coincide with the scheduled examination dates.
SSLC application deadline set for September 30
In a separate notification issued on September 9, MBOSE instructed schools to complete the online application process for the Class X SSLC Examination by September 30, 2026.
The board said the deadline would facilitate timely completion of the necessary procedures ahead of the December examinations.
Meanwhile, to prevent a scheduling conflict with the SSLC examinations, the online application process for the Class XII HSSLC Examination 2027 is tentatively planned between the last week of October and the last week of November.
