Guwahati: Vice-president C. P. Radhakrishnan began his four-day visit to Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh on September 6, with programmes scheduled until September 9.
His programme includes events at educational institutions, cultural programmes and interactions with the public during his stay in the four states.
Radhakrishnan began his Assam visit in Guwahati on September 6, when he joined the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Geetanagar College, which was earlier called Kanya Mahavidyalaya.
He also took part in the convocation ceremony of Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) in the city.
The September 7 programme in Guwahati will conclude with an interaction involving students, faculty members and prominent citizens at Gauhati University’s Convention Centre. He will then travel to Shillong, where he is scheduled to attend a public reception and cultural programme at Soso Tham Auditorium.
Radhakrishnan will travel to Imphal on September 8 for programmes at the INA Museum and War Memorial in Moirang and Sainik School Imphal. He will then travel to Itanagar after his Manipur engagements.
His Arunachal Pradesh programme on September 9 includes participation in a special session of the state Legislative Assembly and a visit to the Assembly Gallery-cum-Museum.
Radhakrishnan will also visit Nyedar Namlo, the Jawaharlal Nehru State Museum in Itanagar and the Donyi Polo Mission School for the Hearing and Visually Impaired.
