COVID-19: With 1227 new cases, Assam’s tally rises to 156680

Assam on Sunday witnessed the detection of 1227 new COVID-19 cases against the recovery and discharge of 1795 patients.

With the new cases, the overall COVID-19 tally of Assam has risen to 156680.

Of the new cases, 327 cases were reported from Kamrup (Metro) and 114 from Jorhat.

The positivity rate of Assam now stands at 6.35 per cent.

The state now has a total of 28,780 active cases.

So far, a total of 127335 patients have been discharged from various hospitals across the state.

Earlier, it was reported that 14 more patients succumbed to the deadly infection, taking the overall death tally to 562.
